Let’s be straight. Almost no one looks forward to going to the dentist. Almost everybody hates the idea of visiting us and makes jokes about our industry to boot. That’s Ok. We get it, and we don’t take it personally. In fact, we totally understand why most people feel that way. In fact, in many cases, dental offices deserve their poor reputations.
Going to the dentist is stressful. You’re either going there because you’re in pain, or you’re worried about being in pain once you get there. Neither one is a good scenario.
To make matters worse:
- It’s hard to know what your visit is going to cost you – but it’s usually expensive – which is stressful.
- People talk to you using terms you don’t understand (endodontic, periodontal, PSR, occlusion) – which is also stressful.
- No one is ever on-time (except you) – which may be the most stressful thing of all.
