Using the Latest Dental Technology Means Fewer Visits for You!

digital x-rays come up on the screen immediately, so there is no waiting for developingDental Health Colorado is committed to providing you a pleasant dental experience.  Using the latest in dental technology, we can offer the highest quality service and reduce the number of office visits for you.

All of our facilities use digital radiography which is a new X-Ray dental technology that eliminates film. With the state-of-the art Gendex system, the digital x-rays come up on the screen immediately, so there is no waiting for developing. You’ll immediately see what we see: a digital X-Ray image on a large-screen computer, right next to the chair you’re sitting in. Not only is the whole process shorter, the sensor shape is more comfortable than traditional film.

With traditional X-Rays with its small film display, your tooth issues may just look like a tiny dot. However, images displayed on our 20-inch monitor show teeth and their conditions maximized to its fullest. They allow your Dental Health dentist to point out the areas of concern and possible treatment options. With this important new dental technology at Dental Health, you’re directly involved in treatment planning, so you know just what to expect.

Also, digital radiography exposes you to up to 90 percent less radiation than traditional film X-Rays do. It’s much safer than the old dental technology.

Intra-Oral Cameras

While x-rays provide valuable information that we can’t get from any other source, they can’t show us everything that is going on in your mouth. That is why at Dental Health, we have invested in intraoral cameras.

The intraoral camera is about the size of a dental mirror. It has a built-in light source and a tiny video camera that allows us to zoom in on one of your teeth with 25 times magnification or even give you a “video tour” of your mouth. The images are displayed on a large TV monitor so you will be able to see all aspects of your mouth in amazing clarity. We can also print out an image for you to take home.

Latest technology for early cavity detection.

Early Cavity Detection

We also have invested in the latest dental technology to improve cavity detection. We use a painless tool called a DIAGNOdent® to detect early breakdown in your mouth. By catching breakdowns in an early stage, we can prevent them from getting worse, turning into a cavity.

The DIAGNOdent® actually allows us to detect tiny accumulation of food impacted in grooves on the teeth before they have reached the surface of the enamel and cause patients pain and discomfort. This unique instrument provides instant feedback on the health of the tooth.  A pen-like probe simply glides over the tooth surfaces constantly checking the health of the tooth and gives the dentist a reading on the extent and severity of a cavity. This new technology is safe and 100% pain free.

DIAGNOdent® is especially useful in identifying hidden caries that have begun to form underneath the enamel surface but are not yet developed enough to show up even on our powerful digital X-Ray system.

Once again, in addition to its invaluable ability to detect caries at a very early stage and enable us to plan an effective treatment strategy, it also involves you in the process. As part of Dental Health’s emphasis on prevention, this tool helps us to provide the most conservative approach possible in developing your treatment plan.

E4D allows for same day restorations

Same Day Restorations

Since one of the specialties of our practice is cosmetic and restorative dentistry, all Dental Health offices have installed the latest dental technology to enable us to provide ceramic crowns, onlays, and veneers in a single visit. This means that, if you need restorative work done, it is possible that you won’t have to make multiple appointments and take valuable time away from your schedule.

We understand that your life is busy, which is why we’ve invested in the ultimate experience in modern dentistry. In contrast to conventional dentistry, which often takes two full appointments to restore a single tooth, our E4D Computer Aided Design System enables us to:

  • Scan your tooth rather than take a conventional impression.
  • Design the restoration virtually.
  •
Send the information via wireless to an in office milling station.
  • Create your metal-free restoration designed to fit your unique smile, in just minutes.
  • Your crown, filling, or veneer is created right in our dental office.

The final restoration is placed in your mouth the same day. This eliminates the need to wear a temporary for weeks at a time and come back for another appointment to get the final restorations.  For more information on same day crowns, please visit our Porcelain Crowns page.
