Our Dentists are Committed to Prevention

Our mantra is that “We practice Prevention in all ways.” You will find your dentist approaches your health as an Oral Physician, which means we use the practice of medicine for prevention and elimination of future disease. We help our patients understand that what goes into their mouth is just as critical to their health as exercise, sleep, joy and living life with a positive attitude. You may have heard of a ‘wellness model’. It simply means that we reinforce through our advice and treatments the message of how everything is connected, and everything we do affects our whole body health.

Oral Systemic Health Connection (Wellness)Good oral health is essential to your overall well-being.

It has been found through research that the condition of our mouth and oral health care has a direct correlation with the overall health of the rest of our bodies. Our patients understand and require our medical contribution to include recommendations on diet, supplements and advanced dental technologies to maintain optimum oral health by managing bacterial communities.

Certain bacteria found in our mouths are linked with other conditions in our bodies, such as Alzheimer’s, brain abscesses, heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes. These conditions show up in one other place–the mouth!

Good oral health is essential to your overall well-being. Our patients understand and have begun to require our treatment for them include recommendations on diet, supplements and advanced dental technologies to maintain optimum oral health by managing bacterial communities.

Our dentists would love to educate you on the benefits of addressing dental concerns early and often. Our medical philosophy will be early interventionist identifying precursors to cavities called “caries” and periodontal disease in early stages, so that we may prevent dental disease.

“The underlying philosophy of our health care system has been a concern of mine for quite some time. Particularly, my concern is the idea that our health care system is only situated to benefit from treating disease and not from preventing it.”
